"The Peach" about to ripen?

Anyone know what happened to the planned format change to oldies? They've been programming a mixture of oldies and country this afternoon. Sounds as though they're about ready to switch.

Darndest thing...at 6:30 or so, I was listening to 97.7 and they were playing "Come Together" by the Youngbloods. When I tuned in again around 8:15, "Come Together" was being played again. I switched over to catch the score of the Auburn-UT game (why, I don't know), then switched back to 97.7--who was then in the middle of a country block. I've seen ipods that were less schizophrenic.

It's been back to all country for at least an hour now. I haven't heard any oldies since then.

I may be wrong but I am going to assume that if you heard some Oldies, it looks like the change is forthcoming.

P.S. Once 97.7 changes to Oldies, I wonder if they will continue to broadcast Gospel Music and Church Sermons, all day on Sunday.

I doubt any of that will change, probably just the music programming.

I'm not surprised 97.7 is so schizo acting.

Paul Reynolds, who owns 97.7 FM has about 4 company names he uses in Alabama

Brantley Broadcast Associates
Great South RFDC, LLC
Great South Wireless, LLC
Reynolds Technical

They are the WORST owners or LMA operators Ive ever seen. Their staff are clueless on how to do anything, always screwing something up........ they run facilities into the ground and in a few cases of an LMA, they are operating ill-legally.....

They have several stations that are dark, and they dont really p[lan on turning them back on, but they don't want to sell them. They file for AM Permits, get em granted and don't sell em, but won't build em............ They filed for a 50KW AM at Maxwell AFB.

Their Engineer Virgile Leon Strickland even has his own station, 1490AM in Level Plains...........
