"The Peach" finally ripens...maybe

97.7 in Clanton is back on again tonight with oldies as "The Peach". Not really sure if this is finally the actual switch, or if it's another round of "Schizo 97.7" again like a couple of weeks ago.

I would be suprised if this were to be the actual format change, that they have been speaking of since last year.

You're right; I spoke too soon. Country has returned to 97.7. When I heard Dwight Yoakum, I knew something was amiss. Great South strikes again...
:)

They must still be working out the bugs from their broadcasting equipment. Once they get the bugs out, I assume the change will occur.

Maybe that could be their new nickname . . . "Schizo 97.7 WHPH, we play whatever the voices tell us to!" They might as well add active rock, urban, gospel, and regional Mexican into the mix with different slogans for each at this point.

Has WEZZ-Thomaston (formerly WSMO) went all country yet, or is it still repeating Laser and/or WHPH?

Maybe that's their plans for tomorrow. :)

WEZZ or WHPH (whichever it actually is), was back on the air again this morning around 10 am with oldies, as "The Peach". Later, at 2 pm, it had morphed back into country as just "97.7 FM". I bet most of the listeners down in Chilton County have no idea what station they'll be listening to when they tune it in every day, that is, if anyone is still listening, with this new hybrid format of theirs.

What about calling themselves "Bubba 97.7"-Playing Whatever We Like, As Long as It's Classic Country or Oldies?" Yeah, it's a mouthful, but what the heck?

Or I-Pod 97.7 FM, playing whatever is programmed in our I-Pod's for this week.
