The Peach Is Back

Since 95.5 is an FM translator there in Clanton, most of the "Peach's" former listeners in south Shelby county northward will be unable to hear the station, as they did previously when the Peach was at 97.7. I'm assuming since the website/link reads "WKLF" this is still going to be a simulcast of WKLF-AM there? WKLF's signal would make it farther into Shelby county, but most listeners these days avoid AM radio like the plague, and with WKLF being daytime only...

I wonder if this has anything to do with the move of the Calera translators at 106.3 FM (W292FO)? The FCC recently approved the translator to modify its iicense where the signal would reach more of the Montevallo area rather than Calera. Not long after that was approved, another app was submitted to move the transmitter further south and relicense the translator to Jemison, but at 106.5 FM instead. I'm sure the folks at Radio Alabama who own W293CQ there in Sylacauga at 106.5 FM are gonna love hearing that news...lol.

The 106.5 FM relay is going to be paired with WAMI AM, when the move to Maplesville is completed.

Details here: https://fccdata.org/?lang=en&facid=66212

Pay attention to the last entry on the bottom part of the left side.

WKLF 95.5 FM still does the WKLF 1000 AM Southern Gospel thing from 5 A.M. till 5 P.M.

The new Oldies/Classic Hits format is heard, from 5 P.M. till 5 A.M.

Thanks for the info. If the "Peach" programming is only going to air between 5 pm and 5 am, most of that period will be during the overnight hours when the AM is off the air, anyway, particularly during the winter months when the sign-off time would be around 5 pm.

IMO, I kinda have my doubts that WAMI-AM will ever be moved to Maplesville.

Both The Peach and WKLF have combined into one web site. The link is now: https://www.wklfradio.com From that site, you can chose which program you want to enjoy. The 95.5 FM side is still doing the block thing, with SG in the Daytime and Oldies at Night.

the 95.5 is legally tied to WKLF AM so they both do the same thing 24/7.. its just that the peach streams around the clock online only
