The perfect format for WXRP

Phillips from ?? (it doesn't matter - the out-of-stater's are the majority)

He was the music director and morning show host on G-Rock at the Jersey Shore, and he lists his hometown as Brooklyn on his MySpace.

why wouldn't this new station put on djs that radio fans sctually know?
I have lived in Jersey my whole life and with the exception of matt pinfield (who i don''t remember all that much from radio) I haven't heard of one person on WRXP that I know of. every time I give it a shot, I have to change the station. It just doesn't sound good, and I don't know if djs from out of town are the answer.....

Here's a bit of anecdotal evidence to buttress the case that Smooth Jazz will *Not* return to the New York airwaves ever again: the format was a favorite of my 8o year-old father! :)

and here's a bit of evidence to counter yours: i have friends in their early 20s who listened regularly to WQCD. so in that case, that's a pretty good thing for WQCD if they pleased anyone 20 to 80. to counter the post about it not billing well, that's because of two simple reasons: poor, unexperimental programming with boring vocals instead of fresh instrumentals from new, smaller artists, and not knowing how to sell the format in the first place. most ad execs at smooth jazz stations try to sell it like a rock station. there's two different techniques there.

Thats right! Many of these account execs don't know how to sell smooth jazz. If CBS could flip WXRK to Smooth Jazz and bring in some ad sales experts from KTWV Los Angeles New York could have a high billing Smooth Jazz radio station.

Then why should't they just bring in experts from KROQ to sell WXRK?
