What type of station would you listen to on a continuous basis? Music? Upbeat personalites are a big plus. A Jack FM type station? What about the weekends?

Preferrably one using the Frequency-Modulation or Amplitude-Modulation modes of transmission. Getting music to sound good in single-sideband mode is just too time consuming.

> Music?

Yeah, some music would be alright with me. Jingles too, if possible.

> Upbeat personalites are a big plus.

*Good* personalities are a plus. I've heard some 'upbeat' ones that just didn't sound good.

> A Jack FM type station?

That format was entertaining for about 5 minutes. Time to yell *NEXT!*

> What about the weekends?

Well, yes. A station that's around on the weekends would be kinda nice too. From what I'm hearing though, many radio stations are in fact already broadcasting on the weekends.

Really, what is the "perfect station"? That would be a matter of personal taste, and no two people have the exact same taste or preference.

Now, if I were to say what my personal "perfect station" would be, I'd say "KROQ Los Angeles, circa 1972". But I doubt too many people here could appreciate that.

MUSIC: Sometimes....hate the commercials but they pay the bills. I ALWAYS hit the scan button when spots come on.

WEEKENDS: Worse then during the week....especially with the canned national shows. Yuck.

I tend to listen to "communicative" radio. Not "talk" radio per se but a station that is communicating with me. Click and Clack..the tappet brothers on WAMC are a great example. They're a riot. I heard a low-power station in Pittsfield that has volunteers reading for the blind. Not pros by any standard but their reading of stories and articles is nice to listen to. Kinda what old time radio used to be like.

Please...They're not even in the Top 15!

Don't forget that they cover parts of 4 states. If you condensed that down to one market they'd probably be a top 3 station in Albany, easy. Let's also remember that WEQX is also the only non-corporate station rated in the Albany mkt. Right? Is there anyone else that isn't part of a larger organization? What's the story with WDST out of Woodstock these days?
