How long has Phil been on Knoxville radio? A week or so ago, I heard him talking about when he was a Top 40 jock back in 1982. He does a great "old school" radio presentation which I enjoy listening to very much.

He's been on the air in Knoxville since at least the late '70's, on several different station. He was doing mid-days on WNOX-AM 990 back in 1978/79 or so. He then went to mornings on WNOX a year or so later. He was on u-102 in the summer of 1981 before going back to mornings on WNOX-AM in the fall of 1981. After WNOX went country in April 1982, he became the morning co-host, along with Mike Beach, on Rock 104 (WIMZ) before becoming the sole morning man on WIMZ when Mike Beach left about a year later, where he remained until 1998/99 or so, when he joined WOKI/WNOX.
Was he a student of PAB or was that John Boy Isley? Phil was on a couple of small stations, then to WNOX in the late 70's. Maybe he knows what happened to Scott Majors and Slick Maurice.
