If you Google his "phrase" and take a look at the results, some guy even calling himself the "Commodore" (ha) uses it blindly as a tag on one of his blog posts, no credit going to the true "Commodore" aka Jim, which is also dating back when The Commodore was really known as someone worth listening to on WWNZ.
 
I do recall that this cranky old dude was quite good when he was on the old WWNZ....

Upon scanning the radio dial these days, you hear the same 300 songs over and over. 10 spots back to back. Robot DJ's/Meaningless sweepers and no creativity.

I listen to the Philips file because there’s nothing much else worth listening to. Monsters are a joke, I hate them. Shannon is pretty good.

Philips crew has their moments of humor.. with lots of fluff.. and Jim does offer interesting commentary from time to time. Jim is the show and is partners fill in the silence.
 
I still kinda like Jim and the crew. I would rather have Coach and Stunning Steve back If I had a chioce.
Nothing worst than Right Wing Wacko Hedinger or Boring Sports guy Ackerman
 
Shannon & SBK are the ONLY good things on that station....I know Philips used to be pretty good, I would say from about 89-95, but whenever I tune in, I just hear a bunch of people talkin at the same time. I have tried to listen, but I cannot figure out what they are about. The only thing that I got from this tired show was that according to Philips, the overrated HBO show "The Wire" is the most "perfect thing ever"....

You know your show has turned to crap when that is all that you can get out of it....

Real Radio should do some major changes. The first obvious change would be to get rid of that 5 hours of AUDIO TORTURE that is on from 6-11AM. They should replace it with a REAL show that talks about REAL events, not some crap that has two high school buddies talking about what color "Drunky The Bear's" underwear is....Shannon & SBK should stay. That show is hilarious. Obviously, there is no way IN HELL that old cranky Philips will ever get taken off. He is kind of like an old athletic director at a University that refuses to retire. However, old cranky Philips should be required to go to some broadcasting classes so that he can be taught the proper way to simulcast a talk show. This would hopefully clear up the problem that his show has, which is the annoying audio experience of Jack, Otto, Moyra, and Janna. As for nights, put good ol' Buckethead back on. His show would sound great at night. Keep real music weekends, because that is another thing that WTKS still does well...
 
I can tolerate SBK w/Shannon because of the chemistry, but SBK's solo gig is a bit too juvenile for me. Not much more than an urban version of the Monsters.... :(
