I guess I should retract some of my above comments, or clarify my opinion.
I enjoy WNCS "The Point", as I think the station is well presented and compelling to listen to. I've noticed that they are simultcasting all three signals more instead of doing separate legal ID's and promos for each frequency. With three higher powered main signals, and now three translators, those are a lot of freqencies to remember, their midday announcer even had trouble getting them all correct in a break.
WEQX is great, if not to me, better than WNCS, for all the same reasons. Great musical selections, and compelling.
I'm not a country music fan, thus I should not be commenting there.
WXXX (95 Triple X) gets my respect, they've kept it all together and prospered in the face if the large "multinational corporations" that own most of the radio landscape in Burlington. The "Radio Vermont" group, also deserves a lot of respect for their take on the local radio world. Any station that does "Music to go to the Dump By" is alright with me.
Is it me, or has any group with a "classic rock" franchise just doesn't know how to do classic rock properly outside of Burlington. The Nassau "McClassic Rockers" could not be any more boring and predictable to listen to.
WCLX - Way too much CS& N, and even too much solo S. Great signal though for what it is.
