The Pope's Mass this morning

The New Pope's mass was this morning. Don't know what time it started, but it was on during the 5AM Eastern hour this morning when I woke up. How was it covered in your area?

ABC affiliate WTNH Channel 8 showed ABC's coverage on sister station MY TV 9 WCTX Channel 59.1 it ended at 5:30AM.

NBC O&O WVIT Channel 30 showed NBC's coverage on COZI-TV Channel 30.2

Did not see any coverage on sister stations or digital some channels for CBS affiliate WFSB or FOX affiliate WTIC-TV.

Both Univision and Telemundo carried the mass too.

WALA-TV in Mobile, Alabama broadcast the FOX Broadcasting Company's live network programming about the event.

In Milwaukee, both the Fox and ABC stations took it in near full until their newscasts started, while the CBS affiliate took it during reports in Up to the Minute. Shamefully, the NBC station did not, showing Mad Money in the ugly NBC grey-boxed format instead.

Here in the LA area, other than Spanish stations, we
had FOX Network coverage on both KTTV-and-KCOP
11-and-13. Also KABC did take ABC-News from
maybe 1 AM PDT. Once KCBS began running Up2the Minute
at 305, they hardly ran any coverage.
When I looked around 210AM KNBC was not running
coverage.
This marks a first time I've ever seen FOX Broadcast
coverage of an event which CBS did not run.
In 2005 NBC seemed an only one of the majors which
didn't run the Pope's installation, although
they all ran John/Paul's funeral. Before that in 1978
all 3 Networks took these type of events always. Ahhh
the good old days. On Dish Network I noticed EuroNews
and France24 running coverage

EWTN (created by Mother Angelica, for those who think nuns aren't up to speed) repeated all in its entirety at 6:00 p.m. EDT.

In Phoenix I know the Mass was broadcast on the local ABC station with the ABC network coverage as well as CNN, Fox News and MSNBC and EWTN. I was watching on EWTN but started having problems with their picture freezing so that is when I did the circuit. With the exception of EWTN all of the other broadcasts included someone translating those parts spoken in Latin (or other languages such as the Prayer of the Faithful) and commentators that could not be quiet. They had to interject their own take on things throughout the entire service.

I did not see any other local stations carry the Mass either from their own network coverage or using one of the cable news feeds.

As if it were open to artistic license interpretation ;D

Artistic License is the credo of the elitist news media. Give 'em credit though; at least they refrained from breaking away for remotes from the sidelines. And another blessing-- ESPN stayed home.

"Elitist?" How about explaining it for all the non-Catholics watching? Nothing elitist about that.

I like the idea of doing Easter Game Day from Vatican Square. Complete with cheerleaders and pom pom girls.

I suspect many network stations on the East Coast didn't carry the Inaugural Mass because it would interfere with high-profit early-morning local news.

For this one morning, network stations should have dumped their early-morning local news.
