The "Portland Newsroom" on WMTW

Could someone please explain to this drunkard what the idea behind the "Portland Newsroom" is? First of all, the shot is poorly framed half the time, and it's focal point is the empty storefront where I often relieve myself. VERY small-market looking. Like 200-something small market. Second of all, all you see at night are two lamps in the square, surrounded by darkness. Third of all, if the studio itself is already in Portland, why do they make you think the anchors are somewhere else while the newsroom shot is in Portland?

Wake up, News 8, this is Portland, not Presque Isle!

Haha I think that makes it the first time WAGM has ever been mentioned anywhere on this board. hahaha<P ID="signature">______________

Don't knock Presque Isle! For being the smallest market in New England, WAGM does a pretty respectable job up in Aristook County. Of course, having ParkerVision instead of twelve crew people doesn't hurt (when it works!).

That's AROOSTOOK County! Anyway, is WAGM-TV still carrying anything from ABC, FOX, WB or UPN?

True, the newsroom shot at WMTW isn't ideal. But I still think it's better and more honest than what they do at WGME. Similarly, the anchors toss to a reporter in the same studio. But instead of a window, the GME reporters stand in front of a chromakey that is mocked-up to look like a cavernous studio. In the end, I think that kind of pretense makes GME look even smaller in terms of both resources and ethics.
