The Presets - Girl By The Sea

I came across this song on a surfing DVD I have... I finally Googled it today and evidently it was released in Australia last year (they are Australian), and the band recently started getting some attention in the UK. The best I can describe them is sort of electro-dance/rock (along the lines of The Killers, Bodyrockers, etc).

As far as the song "Girl By The Sea" itself is concerned, the original mix (which I heard first) is very laid back and seductive. It's one of the more amazing songs I think I've heard in recent months. If your taste yearns for something a little more uptempo sounding, I've heard two other versions - the "Goodwill edit" and the "Cut Copy remix", both are which pretty good as well (and maybe better suited for dance radio, some things considered).

Sounds right up my alley. Is there a place where you can hear an audio sample, or attain it through legal channels?

Hi CHRles, thought you might have some input on this one... :) there's a number of sites with audio samples and previews, this e-tailer has both if you want to take a listen:

After listening to all of the mixes a bit more, there's really not much different at all between the original and the "Goodwill edit", except a small bit of extra percussion. The Cut Copy remix definitely leans in more of a club direction.
