"The Price is Right " to be shown Twice, Starting September 20th.

And that's just for the time being. Just after "As The World Turns" ends its 54-Season run on CBS, and before its replacement, "The Talk with Julie Chen" makes its debut on October 18th. "The Price is Right" begins its 39th season on CBS daytime with a fresh new episode on September 20th, and a rerun will be seen on "ATWT"'s old time slot at 2P east/1P in other time zones. "TPIR" will begin its season without Rich Fields, who has been replaced with Brad Sherwood & JD Roberto, both alums of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" Fields, however will continue to work as the weekend weatherman for KCBS-TV, CBS's Los Angeles affilliated station.

WOW......just when ya think we're getting more than enough of Dru Carey.....CBS throws some more at ya.

Up next on CBS.......

Carey plays a con-man on HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER
Carey is a peeping-tom on THE BIG BANG THEORY
Carey robs a bank on CSI MIAMI
Carey delivers pizza on BIG BROTHER 12
Carey explains the universe on 60 MINUTES
Carey does the EVENING NEWS blindfolded, from Vegas

any more......

Carey filling in for David Lee Roth on the CBS Radio Network?

TPIR is an infomercial posing as a game show and what little value it had initially was totally ruined by the addition of Drew Carey.

If I wanted to watch fat women jump up and down popping out of their clothes it was much more fun to watch Barker's facial expressions as they squeezed the air out of him.

I could not handle that show when Barker had it and now it is gonna be on twice a day with Carey. Whats next with him: This is the CBS evening news with Dru Carey reporting somewhat live from Disneyland. Oh sorry that belongs to the competition.

Wow, a whopping couple of weeks of filler sure can get some folks' panties in a bunch. :D

If I find it to be too excruciating to watch, I'll turn the channel.
"They" will take that power when they pry it from my cold, dead hand!

Pretty sure no one is trying to stop anyone from that by any kind of force. ;)

Well, come on people. Rich Fields was the only holdover from The Bob Barker era, and eventually FreMantle Media wants to go out in a different whole new direction With Drew Carey-still at the helm, an apparently this show might get a TV-PG rating because Drew is bringing some friends over to make this show more fun-filled than ever.

Outside of that paranoid reaction to the perfect showcase winner (understandable, given the circumstances) I actually think Carey's going for Bill Cullen's vibe. Of course, that's a very high bar to set, but there were parts of the surviving Eye Guess episode that made me think "hm, wonder if that's Carey's goal?"

The episode in question: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcUCHWmhTqM

Thanks for the tip! Now all of the college kids can win afternoon bets with their friends.
(I betcha ten bucks she goes over on the actual retail price....)

Hey, even if you've never liked Price or don't like it with Drew, well I still do. It is still a fun and entertaining show for me to watch and gets my mind off stuff.

By the way, does anyone know whether the reruns in the old time slot for ATWT are going to be episodes with Rich Fields? I assume they'd have to be. Or are they really going to rerun the shows from a few hours earlier? That would be ridiculous.

I don't remember either of those two. The three regulars on that show were Wayne Brady, Collin Mocrie and Ryan Styles (who was also Drew's co-star on The Drew Cary Show).

This is a mistake though. There was nothing wrong with having Rich Fields as the announcer. I don't understand why they are using two other people to replace him. At some point, it will no longer be the same show.

As far as "more Drew Carey," what you should really be making note of is the "3 degrees of Drew Carey" that CBS already has. For example, "Let's Make a Deal" with Wayne Brady looks like it has been redeveloped to draw on The Price Is Right's current audience. Then, who is the host of the Late Late Show? Why, that's Craig Ferguson who was also one of Drew Carey's co-stars. So the quesiton is not "what else does CBS get from Carey," but "who else in relation to Drew Carey" will CBS capitalize on?

"Kaite" from The Drew Carey Show is on "Californication", and Ryan Styles is on 2 1/2 Men.
