The Prisoner is back!!

Seeing that i loved the original short lived british series the prisoner!I cant wait to see the new series when it starts airing on AMC in Nov.I think its going to be a mini series and i did see some previews of it and it looks pretty good.Anyone out here watch the original and what do you think?PS! you can watch the orignial on friday nights on IFC if you can get that.

It'll be interesting to see if they can make it really contemporary.

Patrick McGoohan's original concept was to make a commentary about how Cold War geopolitics had distorted both superpower blocs into societies where individuality and freedom were being subordinated to the strategic competition of the moment. It was highly effective in its day. But if they're totally faithful to the original

Will the same theme resonate now--or will it need to repurpose itself to deal with other issues for our time?

I did not know about this...Oooo...I'm so excited! I really do hope it's good. The original was amazing, and has one of the best openings/themes ever, IMO.

The original episodes are on AMC On Demand as well.

I did not know about this either, just checked Comcast Atlanta/Marietta, and it was there. I know what I'll be watching tonight. Saw the preview for The *new* Prisoner before the show started, it looks good. I think either I will tune in or DVR it...11/15/09...
