Hello all! The Professor is back and ready to weigh in on Vermont radio again! You lucky folks!
Before going into all of the various markets let's do a quick overview this time. Since the Professor has been absent many things have taken place and I will, of course, comment on them.
The Pamal folks are making changes again with the switching of CAT to 105.3 and taking 94.5 Classic Hits. What took so long? Everyone else knew this was a good idea 2 years ago. Meanwhile Z has another new PD and airstaff. Gotta love the spinning wheel of DJ's.
Clear Channel is selling their properties in Burlington/Randolph to Vox. Is that a sigh of relief I hear from the Fort or is everyone holding their breath?
How goes thing in Upper Valleyland? Great Eastern has tinkered with formats a bit. They finally have a direction on WGXL. They got smart and brought back The Morning Buzz to mornings on 93.9. If you know what the rest of the day is supposed to mean on that frequency tell The Professor because I don't.
Is little AM WBTN in Bennington going silent or going to be sold? Southern Vermont College is losing money. Anyone surprised about that?
WTSA FM & AM have new owners and a new facility. Must be a breath of fresh air for the staff there. Now all they need is Larry Smith back.
I will look at regions the next time. I know you all can't wait. I will start with the Upper Valley.
Remember. If I don't say it you don't need to know it.
