THE PULSE... NOT ON THE DIAL...???

I love the Pulse, :( sadly my car radio (Pioneer N3) fm dial starts at 87.9 ??? so i can't listen to pulse in my car, oddly enough I my friends stock radio also starts @ 87.9 so, I can't help but wonder is this a common thing :-\???? and if so, how much of an impact will this have on the pulse's ratings... ???

It seems to be common in Kenwood and Pioneer tuners...that's where all the reports of not tuning to 87.7 have come from.

Personally I have access to three factory-installed car radios in three different cars, all of which tune to 87.7 in full stereo and even lock in on the exact frequency using scan, even though the Pulse actually broadcasts on 87.75. The signal sounds great all over Queens and Nassau county when I'm driving and I've carried it much further than that. A lot of people seem to be having trouble receiving the station but it's all been loud and clear for me :)

This past sunday I was traveling to queens to visit family, even though my screenname doesn't show it, I am a huge fan of dance. I grew up listening to Hot 97 and PLJ. Anyway, i too had problems getting the pulse cause i have a Pioneer DEH-P7800 MP, so with that in mind, i tuned into my mp3 player fm, and was only able to tune it in in eastern queens. When i finally arrived in Ozone Park queens it was clear. My brothers car is stock so when we had errands to run we took his and i must say 87.7 was clear all over queens! My question is, can they possibly move it to the adjacent frequency 87.9, that would be perfect for me?

The factory radio in my Jaguar X-Type (made by Alpine) also does not have 87.7. It begins at 87.9. So there are several makes with this issue.

Highly unlikely. 87.9 is FM channel 200. WNYZ is a TV station and is required to adhere to the TV station rules. They would need to get a major waiver to do something like that, and the FCC isn't particularly fond of TV stations pretending to be radio stations as it is. Add the noise that occupants of 88.1 & 88.3 would make and it just seems all but impossible.

All the radios I own (there's quite a bunch) all start 87.7 so I dont have that issue. I do have to say traveling up in the area of southern Orange (say Exit 16ish of NYST) Pulse came in great. Kinda surprised me actualy.
