GO!

There are two markets where Dwyer and Michaels pit up against Bob and Tom: The Quad Cities and the Cedar Rapids-Iowa City market. Soon, D&M will expand to Waterloo and Dubuque....

Hmm... interesting. I wonder who that will end up "displacing".
I'll have to look up some possibilities.

I looked up the stations that they will most likely end up on.
In Waterloo, the most probable candidate is KCRR 97.7 which happens to currently have Bob n Tom.
In Dubuque it looks to be KXGE Eagle 102. Also currently has Bob n Tom.
Very interesting indeed.

I have to believe that this is correct...think about it, isn't Bob and Tom owned by Clear Channel communications anyway? Why would Clear Channel want to host a show on Cumulus stations unless they didn't have a station to put them in in those markets?

I wonder who is number one in the QC market, but no one seems to want to post or talk about the morning show ratings. I am certain someone privy to that information could talk at length about where the shows are ratings-wise.

D & M had a good morning book in QC, but NOT close to historical levels by any stretch. As for Cedar Rapids, declining numbers--AGAIN! From Lou & Scott, the D & M debut was lower rated and the last book was even worse. The B & Y deals are up for renewal in Wloo & Dbq and the D & M contract calls for them to be on specific stations (KCRR/KXGE) by Sept. 2008. CLear Channel has NO Stations in either Wloo or DBQ, so that is not the issue...by the way, B & T are Dominant in Wloo & Dbq and the networked "D & M" track record in Cedar Rapids is not encouraging. Watch Bahakel and Radio Dubuque grab up B & T and continue to make hay. D & M are a QC thing...besides who wants a morning show that appeals to women 25-54 (D &M) on a station that is geared to young males (KRNA-active rock)?

The best show in the market is actually Dave & Darren...and when people can hear them, the numbers are there.
