The Radio Cheese

OK, we have all had that one listener who called religiously on just about everyone's shift. I am referring to back when most DJs actually answered the phone, you know, pre-Voice Track days? Yep. Anyway, Over the years I can recall a few that really stood out to me. One was a guy named Nathan who always started his call by asking "How you doin'?" and almost always before you could answer he'd tell you, "I'm doin' fine".
Most of the DJs I've worked with refer to these faithful, if not annoying callers each day as "RADIO CHEESE". I'd like to hear some of your stories about one that stood out to you, and what it was they did each call that instantly made you recognize it was that person. Just a little hogwash fun for you! Any radio, TV or newspaper person who has ever worked in Meridian will know exactly who I'm talking about when I say... Jeb. Jeb is a guy who's called every radio and TV station in town since he was a kid. He'd call into my show at Q101 and want to hear "Interstate Love Song" by the Stone Temple Pilots every night... that or "What Is Love" by Haddaway. He also wanted to make sure I mentioned the Kemper Academy score on Friday nights when I'd do a scoreboard show and was just generally annoying. Don't get me wrong, he's a great guy, he just has the ability to drive a preacher to drink. He also liked to call up the female media people and ask them to say "move." He'd always find ways to get them to do it. I'm not sure why and I probably don't want to know, although I have my theories.
