"The Radio Gypsy's Predictions for 2007"

"The Internet will continue to penetrate the mobile phone market and will finally enter the automobile. And with it will come the potential for an all new – and potent – threat and/or opportunity for radio. In its first year of wide availability more new cars will be equipped with Internet access than with HD radios, and the discrepancy will continue to grow."

Make me a deal. If one year from now this hasn't happened, will you PLEASE shut the hell up about it? ;D

There's very little chance of it happening, by the way. There's no practical internet device for the car that's in wide circulation, but car manufacturers are set to put HD in MILLIONS of new cars. So I repeat my question...if a year from now HD is in more cars than the internet, will you PLEASE, PLEASE, oh my Sweet Lord, PLEASE shut the hell up about it? (Love you 700. Mean it!)

Prove, that car manufaturers are set to put millions of HD radios in cars ! As far as, Wireless Internet in cars, Ramsey and Microsoft would disagree with you, with the new Sync - Ford is putting Sync in its 2008 Focus and 500 series ! As far as, me shutting up, about this - ask Waldo ! :D BTW, Waldo didn't even show up at the Detroit Auto Show, but XM and Sirius had huge displays, in front ! :D

They've been "set" since 2001. What's the hold up? I say follow the money. The car makers are investors in XM & Sirius. They could care less about HD at this juncture. Looks like AM Stereo might've had a better reception (pardon the pun) by Detroit in the mid-'80s. GM, Ford, & Chrysler all had AM Stereo products. Outside of BMW, there have been no big announcements from other car makers whole-heartedly embracing HD as they have satellite.
