THE RADIO SHOW YOU JUST CAN'T MISS?

Ok All you Burgh people which I'm proud to be born and raised: Can't forget about Jimmy and Steve and their cast of chacters, Silly Sally, LJR, Biff Bob. The Babies, and who could forget Miami Mice. But all the other air people that were mentioned all deserve being part of the Burgh, It was a different time in radio, that I'm sure alot of us miss. As for WTAE AM/FM O'brien and Gary put that station on the map, as did The great Capt. Showbiz Ted Atkins

have to agree about the doug hoerth appeal. is he still around town? just seems like he'd still be a great overnight guy. imagine 5 or 6 hours of uncle dougy?

What I liked about his show was the way he worked dead-on impressions of old time jocks like BMR from WMCA in with the music. He could talk about growing up in NYC and radio in NY and Philly. I wonder why he didn't continue the show online. He seemed to get loads of e-mails, especially from Florida.

Doug did one online show shortly after his last show on 1360. I was hoping this would have become a regular show but it was not to be. Doug would have had more freedom to talk about things on the internet but I guess his heart truly isn't in it. The mere mention of Dougs name on these boards bring out his fans like me and his detractors. I have learned that people either loved him or hated him. For those who were fans, enjoy the memories. For his detractors, enjoy the fact that it appears he is retired and is never coming back.

At one time this market had a ton of quality people: Hoerth, Cullen, Musick, O'Brien & Gary, hell, I even liked Quinn when he was a liberal. Now the only talk radio around is bash Radio on KDKA. Very little non-political talk on the air waves. I was a big fan of Krenn and Paulson, but since Scott left I rarely listen, seems like they went the Howard Stern route.

At least there are 2 good hours every morning with Stan and Guy. After that, it's music time.

Not now. Twenty years ago, it would have been a good idea.
