The Rays on DAE

Will the Rays loose local affiliates by broadcasting games on WDAE?

I may be wrong but most of the games are at night. DAE' doesn't have the best night coverage what with the Cubans around. They have problems in north Tampa and beyond. It is a big upgrade, no doubt about that.

You have to have affiliates in the first place to lose them. I don't recall them having much of a network to begin with.

The Rays website shows about a dozen and a half stations scattered throughout the state. It looks a lot of them are class IV AM's, but there are some stronger signals out there.

You can see for yourself here http://tampabay.rays.mlb.com/tb/schedule/radio_network.jsp

That's a great improvement over the Naimoli years.

To answer the original question, I could only maybe see Sarasota and Zephyrhills being impacted by the move to 620, but carrying sports is more about making money, so if they have local sponsors it doesn't matter.
