The reason why 21st century Fox Separated from News Corp.

http://www.npr.org/2013/10/27/24108...wcase-cozy-ties-between-media-political-elite

NPR is reporting that the UK division of News Corp is on Trial for Wire Tapping allegations to UK officials and other figures in the country. I know in the UK Rupert Murdoch is seen as a Harvey Levin figure. But here some of Murdoch's UK Editors and members of the UK Media are explaining their tactics.

I know Murdoch in the USA is seen as a propagandist due to Fox News and how many RNC lobbyists go to that network. But the Trial in the UK will evolve to which version of Rupert Murdoch is Jekyll and which version is Hyde.

Murdoch isn't personally a propagandist, and word has it that he isn't as conservative as Fox News Channel. He is a brilliant businessman who sees maximum profit as his primary objective. After decades of conservatives whining about the media being liberally biased (never mind that most newspapers were run by Republicans), Murdoch saw a need - for a right-wing news network - and hired Roger Ailes to fill it.

The profit motive is the same reason that his corporation allowed reporters to "hack" cell phones of celebrities in Britain - to get hot stories that the competition wouldn't have. I doubt Murdoch personally knew about the hacking. It's way below his pay grade.

I like to point out that Murdoch is the guy who got his start with sensationalistic tabloid newspapers that featured bare-breasted women on the inside pages. The original productions that run on his basic cable channels like FX and FXX are among the most daring in television history - full of sexual content and violence. Check out Sons of Anarchy sometime.
The regular Fox network pushes the censorship envelope as well.

I have no doubt Murdoch is personally 'conservative' - but he's more of a "keep government out of my business and taxes low" kind of conservative. I'd bet that he personally has no sympathy for Tea Party and fundamentalist Christian types, and thinks Sarah Palin is an idiot.

I agree that Murdoch is in it for the investors its just that the public views in the USA and UK of Murdoch are really "Which version is Jekyll and which version is Hyde" Its that Both UK and USA public yelled "We Saw Hyde and he did this and that " Well It will take a media expert and broadcasting expert outside of the USA and UK to really answer that question.

The separation of print from TV & movies was a move to boost stock prices.

And I believe they intend to spin off Fox News Channel into a new company called 18th Century Fox. :D

(Hey, somebody had to say it.)

What Happened to Piers Morgan ties to "News Of the World Scandal". At one point BBC News said that Piers Morgan conducted some Hacking in the UK before Cowell Productions got him for a TV Deal. This was when Morgan was getting ready to move from Cowell Productions to CNN right when the Scandal came into play.
