The regular guys are history

Jason Bailey who was recently on 929 The Game will start on December 15 replacing the TIRED Regular guys. AMEN....

New PD = New Morning Show. I really am not surprised, The Regular Guys were (are) not female friendly. Yesterday or the day before I heard TRG promo that featured a short bit that wasn't funny. I can only guess the sponsors who were rumored to be paying "big bucks" have decided to "go another direction". Will The regular Guys get to work next week until JB takes over? That could be some interesting radio!

Does anyone have more detail about this Jason Bailey. Just a brief look, it appears he is more younger and and perhaps more focused on pop culture. Almost reads like a Ryan Seacrest, just with bigger balls. Not sure how that is going to work on a station that focuses on 40 & 50 year old classic rock men.

Listened this morning...it was basically the Sebas & SSS Show. Noted that they are NOT using the TRG name; all the bumpers generically called it the "Rock100.5 Morning Show" instead of "the TRG Show"

Content-wise, it wasn't much different, although they had Sebas hustling and talking a LOT more than usual. Some of the topics seemed to die due to a lack of callers.

SSS said that the new show would feature more humor/comedy, but beyond that would remain the same.

Oxygen Financial wasn't featured nor did I hear any spots for them. Are they still sponsoring the show? Was that a Larry Wachs endorsement?

To me the farewell to Larry didn't seem very heartfelt. I was surprised they didn't spend more time on his departure. It was about 8 minutes long this morning (8-8:08).

It sounded professional but nothing more. A lot of consultantspeak about how Larry will land on his feet and do well elsewhere, radio is a tough business, change is constant, everyone gets fired all the time, change is for the better, etc.

I'm still wondering what Cumulus's long-term plan for the station is. TRG was their best daypart and with that (and Axel) gone...

It appears that they are blowing up the station. God they need to. My money says Axel was told, "here's your new gig...take it." Who knows with Cumulus.

Agreed. Sebas said, "Larry is no longer here, but the good news is I'M here!" Everything else seemed perfunctory.

I don't understand the way Jason Bailey is being brought in. Steve, Sebas, Tim and Brandi have been working together an average of probably 10 years. Now a guy who's been on air in Atlanta for less than a year is being brought in to be their leader? And rather than getting to design his own show and select his own supporting cast, Jason Bailey has to join the remnants of the last guy's show? Unless the old crew is being held over to smooth the transition, then will be dropped one by one and replaced with new Bailey show members.

Wish the RG's had gone out with more flair than this fizzle.
