The Regular Guys

Hello,

Being in Fort Worth/Dallas I am new to The Regular Guys which airs locally on FM93.3...

What does P'teetong mean?

Why do they warn you not to step on downed power lines

What does it mean to have your child's tongue clipped properly? ???

Peteetong is a two-way greeting, meaning hello and goodbye at the same time. Kinda the same as Aloha.

The reference to not stepping on down power lines is in reference to a commercial Braves broadcaster Skip Caray did for Georgia Power back when the Braves were on the same station as TRG. Larry actually had a poll to whether he should keep using the phrase after Skip died last year.

As for the tongue clipping, I'm not familiar. I'm sure someone can help out on that.

By the way, the new link for TRG terms is at regularguys.com. Click on TRG 101 at the bottom. It gives more info on Peteetong.

Tongue clipping comes from a Norma Lee appearance on the show. She was a victim, and feels strongly about the Ankyloglossia issue. To help raise awareness, Norma wrote a song called "The Ballad of the Unclipped Tongue" which was featured on the show.

Larry Wachs continues to support Norma’s efforts to promote early diagnosis and treatment using the Lingual Frenotomy procedure.
