Jerry Remy returned to the NESN booth for an inning just a few minutes ago for the first time since April.
Turns out, he has been suffering from severe depression following his battles with cancer and an infection. He came back "too early" back in spring training and then came back briefly early in the season.
But he came back for a visit which he called "very therapeutic". He doesn't know when he'll be back for good but he does have a date in mind although he didn't want to divulge that because he's already missed two tentative come-back dates.
He lost alot of weight during the process but is gaining that back.
During the commercial break between half-innings, he was shown on the big scoreboard at Fenway and received a very nice ovation from the Fenway Faithful.
