The Return of Futuristic Sounds?

Just heard J Cole ft Trey Songz, "can't get enough".
I also notice how Drake's "headlines" also has a late 90's futuristic Timbaland style beat to it as well.

IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THIS IS A SIGN OF THINGS TO COME?

Could the whole futuristic Timbaland and Missy r&b, hip hop, and pop sound from the late 90's be coming back through new producers? Could it really be that there are other producers and people out there who share my idea of bringing back that whole sound style with a modernized twist and they are choosing to act accordingly?

I've also began to notice that J. Cole w/Trey Songz "Can't Get Enough" sounds like a Timbaland track from the late 90's. It's in frequent rotation at KMEL San Fransico, WQHT and WWPR New York, WUSL Philadephia, KGGI Riverside-San Bernadino and KPWR Los Angeles, just to name a few. As for Drake's "Headlines", It doesn't really match up to the Timbaland sound of the late 90's.

Is Usher's "climax" playing anywhere in LA yet? If that type of production sound takes off or even just becomes somewhat of a trend for slower r&b and pop, this may help influence a new generation style of the old Timbaland and Missy sound. I don't expect that sound to come back exactly as it sounded in the 90's, but I do believe it could come back in a new, modernized fashion. It seems as if people are slowly beginning to explore and produce more complicated beat style patterns while adding in new elements into their musical compositions. However, much of the slower tempo music these days still use typical "boring, basic beats".

Maybe Usher's "Climax" could influence a bit of change to slow r&b productions. It would be nice if T-Pain or somebody else produced another beat with a similar style to the Chris Brown "Kiss Kiss" production.

Power 106 played it on Wednesday during the New @ 2 mix. I'm sure KJLH will get their hands on Usher's "Climax" sooner or later. Power 106 will probably begin playing "Climax" since they've allegedly turned back to Urban Contemporary in order to go head to with KDAY according to Wikipedia. Ha yeah right :).
