The Return of Super Eck-ees?

KPHX 14~Eighty is back to Español and temporarily running 250 watts day and night from a drop wire at the KSUN site. Signal is definitely better than the drop wire at Shaw Butte, as they work their way up to 950 watts day and 320 at night. All this to feed their three watt Paradise Valley translator. Who's supplying the programming for KPHX remains a mystery...but they are running local commercials.

I caught a listen a couple days ago and it sounds like they're simulcasting the "Radio KASA" programming formerly found on 1540 and currently on 580 in Marana and 1150 in Coolidge.

Got a chuckle out of this thread's title. The Dr. is one of two people who remember that format. I'm the other one. I thought it sounded great.
No one will ever ask for my advice as a radio consultant.

Yes indeedy...Kah-Pay-Ach-Ay-Eck-ees fought it out with Rah-Dio VIVA 8~Sixty back in the day when Spanish language radio was found primarily on Ancient Modulation. Now the sole purpose of 14~Eighty is a place holder for an FM translator.
