The first hour airs on XM's channel 5 this Wednesday April 5th at 4 p.m. eastern time. Click the following link for the complete schedule:

Sounds like they'll be playing more Orbisongs
than just "Oh, Pretty Woman."

Oldies stations, take note.

Orbison Story

I tell you, fellas, if you ever get a chance to catch the ROY ORBISON & FRIENDS-BLACK & WHITE NIGHT special, it is outstanding. Bonnie Raitt, Elvis Costello, Springsteen, kd Lang and others play with The Big O and it is one of THE best (especially when he does "Crying").

Check your local PBS stations for it--they tend to run it late on Friday or Saturday nights (early mornings of the next day). It often follows re-runs of Austin City Limits (one night I had an orgasmic experience as the Stevie Ray Vaughn "City Limits" show was followed by an UNINTERRUPTED shwoing of Roy Orbison-Black & White. I very nearly got up and pledged...but then after Roy they went to Wayne Dyer, and the moment passed.)

Also, guitar great, James Burton, shows them how to rock.

another one

and, as long as we're on the topic of great music shows, doesn't "Standing In The Shadows Of Motown" rank right up there? Joan Osborne's rendition of "What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted" gives me goose bumps. Phenomenal (and more than just because of where I'm from). Outstanding-- on DVD and, occasionally, HBO/Showtime/etc.
