The Score is now being simulcast on WCKG, at least for now.

As of five minutes ago, the Score is now being simulcast on WCKG. No reference is being made on WCKG regarding the simulcast, so I'm assuming this is not the final format choice.

Personally, I don't think management has a clue about what format they want to put on that station!

I get this weird feeling if they are going to sumilicast their family of stations, the new format is going to complement one of them.

I got a weird feeling CKG is going to go with a new "Movin" type rhythmic oldies format to help B 96 fight off Kiss FM. Why I have a gut feeling I don't know. They say the new format will target women and that format concept does target it. It has done well in Seattle, and a CBS station in San Fran flipped to the format.

But you are right. Seems like they don't know what they want to do.

Interesting. Could they hold on to this for a few weeks until they decide on what they are doing? Would a FM Sports talk work in Chicago?

WELL BELIEVE IT OR NOT THAT WOULD BE SMART. AFTER ALL CLEAR CHANNEL IS FIGHTING OFF B96 WITH KISSFM AND WGCI..

We might now be hearing the beginnings of the new format (and it's consistent with what's been reported in recent days). I haven't heard any imaging/IDs yet, but the last few minutes have been The Clash and Counting Crows.

**UPDATE: Pardon my error. They now appear to be simulcasting 'XRT (at least according to the bumper I just heard!).

well looks like the speculation is true fresh is coming but when?? maybe 1059am tommrrow??? well you guys out there are lucky boston hasnt had a format change in a long time i think its time for cbs to change some things out here

Yes, that's right. Listening on HD Radio locally, it's a direct simulcast of WBBM 780; PAD is saying nothing more than "105.9 WCKG".

What will we be treated to next, B96 or US 99.5?

All right! Next will be the "All New Hip Hop 105.9"! ;)

you obviously were listening. i was on and off the stream all afternoon and just happened to go to the new site minutes after the flip. regardless, congratulations with breaking the news. and i just heard them attacking LITE already.

i was onthe stream since about 2pm my time and heard the flip and the many simulcast through out the day i think boston should do something similar!!

New Yorkers can tell you that back in 1996, on the cusp of flipping from country WYNY to "the new WKTU", 103.5 simulcast sister stations all week of February 5, 1996. WRCX, rock/Mancow, Chicago; KKBT, urban, L.A.; WLUP, talk, Chicago; KIOI, AC, San Francisco; and WXKS, CHR, Boston.

And so is the official format flip (see my post below).
What time did the flip happen? Did they just go into a song, or how did the change sound? I wish they would have done this at 10:00, as I was listening then. When they started symocasting those other stations, I went away, as for all I knew, they could have decided to do this the rest of the year.
