The Self-Conscious World of Glenn Beck

Everything -is- about him. The completely unwatchable Glenn Beck on Headline News (proving once again that the news has been cancelled on the nation's cable news channels) has brought Ego Television to new heights.What formerly used to be irritating "reporter reaction" shots in news stories, where the video cuts from the interview subject to show the reporter, has been completely re-invented by a radio talk show host who now wants all Americans to know what he looks like, whether the show itself is trash or not.During several segments of his show, when clips are being shown of various newsmakers, Glenn Beck's live reaction shot pollutes the screen like an Internet pop-up ad. The actual Glenn Beck Thought Bubble shows Glenn reacting (or usually just sitting there blinking) as the newsmaker says or does his/her thing. I half expected him to begin signing the story for the hearing impared community. It stays on screen the entire time.Even O'Reilly won't go that far. Spare us!
 
Does the fact that he was once the morning man at a top 40 radio station in Connecticut mean anything now? (WKCI-FM 101.3 of Hamden/New Haven, a.k.a. "KC-101".)

If you don't care for his show, don't watch it. Problem solved. I don't know what you think whining about here is going to accomplish.
 
I may not agree with most of the stuff he says, but he's better than anything of Fox News. I mean, at least he's trying to be different.
 
I just saw his show (albeit a replay on Sunday night). I thought it was pretty interesting. Glen Beck does something that none of the other editorial news shows do on a news netowk, be funny. I thought his comparison of the UN as the Legion of Doom was hilarious.
