The Shackles are off MM

I listened to the new Mark Madden show a few times this week--it seems the shackles are off him: no music, live callers, talking about strippers and berating the callers. Back to the future. Will the ratings follow?

If he's indeed unchained it will only be a matter of time before he puts his foot in his mouth. He can't help himself.

More Double M. Thank God!

Yes, and thank God! Nothing was worse than trying to listen to Mark Maddens show and tuning in only to hear played-out 90's alternative rock songs, commercials and traffic reports. I want to hear the talent, not songs I've heard 100 times! Finally, Madden is free to do his show, his way. Say what you want about him, but he is the absolute LAST local radio personality worth listening to in Pittsburgh. When he's gone, what do we have left in local talk hosts? Marty Griffin on KDKA? HA! I'm not a big fan of Madden talking about soccer, pro wrestling, strippers and old rock bands; but that's him! I'd rather have a real personality on the air than the same old crap. And as far as sports talk, Madden is far more entertaining than the hosts on 93.7 the Fan, because Madden has a personality and an act. The Fan hosts have none of that. They literally all sound the same and are not controversial at all.

The only thing that will put Madden's show in danger would be FCC complaints. Gotta love the good old FCC, trying to babysit our listening and killing free speech! We couldn't make our own listening decisions without them!

Also, I am glad that 105.9 the X finally came to their senses and axed that horrible morning show with Tim Benz and Bob Whatever who ripped off things from Howard Stern like "Dumber than a Box of Rocks" and called it "Are You Smarter Than (insert hot chick name)". Playing You Tube video audio and re-hashing sports news. REALLY creative programming! I see that currently Abby is on and playing music. And while I don't really care for the X because I feel that most of the music they play is now old enough to be on the WDVE playlist, I would be more inclined to listen to music than some garbage morning show. But that's only if my smartphone is broke, because I rarely listen to the radio in the morning. It's Howard Stern or Tom Leykis podcasts or live streams for me! Gotta love bluetooth!
