The Shopping Channel That Just Won't Die

After five months of "going out of business", The Jewerly Channel USA finally sold its last Tanzinite ring just before 1am Eastern Time. And that would be that except.......

"The Liquidation Channel" is set to debeut on 12/1.....sometime between 4pm and 6pm Eastern Time, perhaps earlier accoeding to the lamenting on-air hosts at TJC-USA. And the 'Liquidation Cnannel' will be offering....mostly jewerly, gemstons, and "lots of other stuff".

Like ummmmmm......Tanzinite? ::)

So place your bets now on how long before "The Liquidation Channel" gets.....liquidated :D :D :D

They allready have a video with music with a weird design saying liqudation channel. The music and video reminds me of the old shopping channels from the 80's and early 90's.

Yeah. When I woke up for the first time this morning at 4AM Eastern Channels 218 and 225 on DISH Network had the DISH Network Logo on the Screen with Music in the background and underneath the Dish Network logo were the words "Due to Circumstances Beyond Our Control this channel is temporarily Unavailable." (amongst other things). The message was still there the second time I woke up after 8AM Eastern. When I got to my parents house around 9:45AM The Liquidation Channel Video was playing on DIRECTV Channel 226.

I don't gamble (except for the state lottery on occasion)...but given the poor ecomony...and the weird name...3-4 months tops

This is just like Shop-At-Home...Scripps announces shut down...network saved via new owner 48 hours prior to sign off...new owner runs for a while...network shuts down for good.

Good thing Comcast doesn't carry this garbage (the only thing they have done right). Is this weird video posted somewhere? They probably patched it together on a Mac or a cheap PC because they can't afford quality video production.

The Liquidation Channel is now on the air. One of the presenters is Dan Dennis who was once a presenter on HSN. He always seems to be involved in these fly-by-night shopping channels as I remember he was also on the now defunct WSS Network out of Minnesota which was The WorldWide Shopping Source. The Liquidation Channel has the same graphics and phone number as the former Jewelery Channel USA. All Sales Final. No Ring Resizing Available. http://www.mylctv.com/

Update: The Liquidation Channel has been abruptly pulled from DISH NETWORK and replaced by guess what? More Infomercials! :mad: All day yesterday The Liquidation Channel was still on but for program listings it said The Jewelery Channel would no longer be available after Friday 1/16/09. Meanwhile it was still scrolling on the bottom of the Liquidation Channel that the service is available 24 hours day on Dish Network Channels 218 and 225.

I'm surprised that home shopping channels still exist here in the age of online retail. Even more surprising are the broadcast stations that carry this stuff; my guess is that those will start going dark in the next year or so, especially in the current economic climate.

Dish Network added another local channel to our package the other day, but it was only a local channel that is all infomercials 23.5/7. They do one half hour of "Ask Gilby" or an animal show every morning.... :sigh:

From what I saw it looked like they were airing InCite TV...much like DISH's own infomercial channel airs on the old Shop-At-Home channel (listed as "SHOP").
