We’re entering the third week of the new TV season, and already a number of shows are in trouble. Few of them will probably make it to the November sweeps.
What’s interesting about this fall is that not all those shows are new ones.
There are several returning programs that have seen sharp year-to-year declines and are in danger of being dumped before even any of the new programs.
There’s precedent for this. Last year CBS pulled a shocker, canceling second-year comedy “The Millers” after just a handful of episodes.
The network saw no point in waiting for an audience that would never come, even if that show starred a big name such as “Millers’” Will Arnett.
