I was scanning the radio on the way to the bank this morning, and KROI 92.1 is on the air, but there is no audio. I thought that maybe they were having technical difficulties at first, but it has been silent for going on an hour now.

Any news?
______________

To add a little fuel to the speculation fire, I went to www.radio-one.com to see if there was any mention of a pending flip or anything...and found something interesting. Notice what's missing of the 3 properties here in Houston. KROI has a blank for a format.

KROI has had a blank for a format ever since it was added to the Radio One website.
Apparently updating their site isn't a big priority.

Seems kind of silly, considering that they use the 'ROI calls to symbolize Radio One. Wasn't KROI supposed to be their flagship station here in Houston?
______________

Those letters also stand for "Return On Investment". Maybe there hasn't been any.

For the $72.5 million cost of the stick, no. But the numbers uptick in the Fall 2005 book has probably kept the axe in the cabinet for the time being.
