'The Simpsons' gears up for cable

Yeah yeah yeah, the show's not as good as the good ol' days. This seems like the standard disclaimer one is supposed to say when talking about The Simpsons' long run. But really, who cares? This is the same historical show that made animated comedy viable, and its efficient longevity (still brings in the viewers) makes it somewhat more comparable to Peanuts and Doonesbury than the best live-action sitcoms that have come and gone in its time. How many times have you tuned into an episode and really felt like your half-hour was wasted?** I'll bet its not that many.

Will Bob's Burgers go beyond 100 episodes? Cleveland Show didn't, but Fox still hasn't "officially" cancelled that
The show's run on Cartoon Network/adult swim should definitely make promotion and production costs easier.

Actually, Yeardley Smith voices Lisa. Nancy Cartwright is Bart.
And Ralph and Nelson, plus a bunch of other kids that don't do much.

It has been years, but Yeardley was Greg's obnoxious secretary on "Dharma and Greg".

She actually had a guest role on 'The Big Bang Theory' , a few seasons ago, as a worker in the unemployment office when Sheldon loses his job....

Yeardley Smith also played a secretary on "Herman's Head," which also featured Hank Azaria as Herman's pal.
A show like that was too weird for me.

I might watch it now, especially given the cast. But how?

I saw a list of the highest-paid TV actors. I didn't see Nancy. But Dan, Julie and Yeardley all get $300,000 an episode. This hardly seems fair since Yeardley does just the one voice, and most of the time so does Julie, and at most she does three voices. Dan does a lot of voices.
