The snow is falling

Twelve snowflakes fell on Atlanta today....and guess what? Not one Atlanta station hyperventilated over it. I was honest surprised. By now, I've come to expect the "WATCH OUT ON THE ROADS! SCHOOLS MIGHT BE CLOSED! AHHHHH!" screaming act when we see the white stuff....

I was kinda surprised too! There was even still bread and milk left at the store.. people didn't go stock up for 3 months (again). I figured at least the TV people would be making a big deal of it.

On a weekend the only way most of us would from radio there is a weather issue is if the EAS was activated AND the stations automatically passed the messages through.

<sarcasm intended> :)

Back when I was producing for Chris Krok on WSB in 2006 and 2007, we made fun of the snow fall. As usual, it turned out to be nothing, but Chris interviewed me as I was pretending to be a store manager in a fictional North Georgia town jacking up the prices on everything due to the impending snow storm. I was selling beach umbrellas so you could open them up and use them to cover your driveway, Itdoesn't sound funny, but th execution of it made it very funny!

Ricky, I live in SF now, but still listen to WSB regularly and though I know Chris is in Dallas now, I would give my left *** to have him replace Herman Cain on Atlanta morning drive. Cain is an on-air coma. BTW, I listened to Chris when he moved on to Macon, and THOROUGHLY enjoyed his endless torturing the local pols there, as he did in Atlanta. He's a nut, perhaps even insane, but a real talent. Too bad WSB didn't appreciate him -- with Boortz' retirement, he'd very well be ruling as the new Mouth of the South.
