The Song Name Game

Il est cinq heures, Paris s'éveille — Jacques Dutronc

I'll admit, this was a stumper for me as well, and I got this from doing a bit of searching. I just knew there had to be more than one Jacques out there making music, and at least this is someone I've heard of previously. This song was apparently voted the "best French-language single of all time" in 1991, at least according to Wikipedia.

I figure it was either going to online search or just coming up with someone who did a cover of that song and hoping they would have a name that could keep the game going. :cool:

In high school, my French teacher decided to give the class a little break from the usual lessons by introducing us to his favorite French singers and songwriters, one of whom was Jacques Brel. The Brel song he selected, "Marieke," for some reason, has been stuck in my head since.
