That is how Top Pop Singles lists the artist.
 
Magical Mystery Tour -- Beatles

Must have been a different pressing. That's happened more than once. It's listed as "? (Question Mark) & The Mysterians" for "96 Tears" but simply "? And the Mysterians" for their follow-up (and unsuccessful) singles.

The Grand Tour -- George Jones

I had the Cameo single of "96 Tears." Maybe the band's name was only rendered with the "(Question Mark)" on the original, and rare, Pa-Go-Go 45.
