The Sound and 96 Rock

Can anyone give affirmation to The Sound going 97.3 and Country going to 94.9, to possibly become FM Talk? This would make sense with all of the syndicated talent that they bought up this week...no?

Also heard that Richard Skinner was let go today paving the way for Fin to be the second half of the two angry, and overweight, guys.

The Sound became a jukebox this morning and the airstaff has joined the ranks of people looking for work. New format? That's usually what follows a complete ridding of airstaff, so my money is they'll change it - what it changes to is anyone's guess at this point. There's a CP to upgrade the 97.3 signal, but it won't have any impact until much later in the game. The Sound is on life support, but the patient is brain dead.

Christmas 97.3, then talk in January?

Listen for the Two Angry Guys commentary on WDJO!

Only if they'll work for free.

They can fill Andy Furman's spot.

Bonneville did register 973thesound.com back on 10/10/2008

It really does not look like they are going to use it though

This is a really really sad day for the staff and radio in Cincinnati when it comes to what happened at 97.3.

I was just thinking, could this be in preperation of something much much bigger? Something as big as the Clear Channel Spin Off? They have to dump those two FM's and Bonneville could pick both up and drop 97.3.

And then we could have COUNTRY on FOUR Bonneville stations !!!

Actually though, that makes a lot of sense

I like that, country on FOUR bonneville stations.

I will say this, while I have some friends that were affected by the adjustment, Bonneville is still a GREAT company overall. They arent stupid and they are looooaaaddddddeeddddd!!!!!! They have NO DEBT.

Thats why I think there is something much bigger in the picture!

Possibility : First Media buys WSWD from Bonneville, puts the Sound on 97.7 Oxford and 97.3 in Fort Thomas. 99.5 remains Max FM with a lone signal.

Bonneville gets 92.5 and goes Classic Hits, they add 94.1 to the bunker along with Country 94.9, Q012 and B105

Is that why there are so many air staff singing, "Take this job and shove it"????
