THE SOUND OF ERIN!

I wonder if anyone ever remembers WNTN-AM's Irish program "The Sound of Erin?" It was an upbeat alternative to John Latchford and the "Irish Hit Parade," since it played a lot of rebel songs that Latchford wouldn't air. And its hosts, John Curran, Henry Varian, Bernie McCarthy and "Sporting" Pat Toohig really gave the show a boost!

Do either shows still air? I have a WROL Irish show bumper sticker. I wonder if 96.9 HD2 would air those shows & Jim Larkin's Sounds of the Emerald Isle.

I also board op'd on John Curran's show. It left in me a real love for the kind of music he played. I still listen to it now, some 25 years down the road. RIP John.
