After 25 years, has El Rushbo seen better days?

Cumulus doesn't want to renew the contract, and Premiere (read CC) has to find new homes in big markets like New York, Chicago, Dallas-Ft Worth, Washington D.C., and Detroit. Plus hapless Merlin Media and the more hapless Randy Michaels have announced the sale of IQ106.9 to a religious group that plans to take the station non-comm. Goodbye Rush Radio for Philly. Making things a little more difficult is the scarcity of CC owned stations that could or would take him. Chicago, Washington D.C., Dallas-Ft Worth, Detroit, Philadelphia pose some interesting challenges.

But have no fear, CC owned KFWhyEye is in it for the long haul. No matter which way the hot air blows. :eek:
 
Clear Channel owns WOR, so Rush will have a home in New York City as he will in the other markets you mentioned. In essence this move saves Clear Channel a bunch of money and works out well for everyone. Cumulus gets to have their talent and therefore doesn't have to give up ad time to outside programming and CC gets the same.

In summary, the rich get richer and radio dies a little more every day.

I guess they are also saying Hannity may get moved on FOX for Megan Kelly? or maybe co-host with him? The older white male demographic does not impress a lot of advertisers except for funeral palors and reverse mortgages and denture adhesive.
