The Steve and Vicki "rumors"

What's with the fascination of them coming back on Atlanta radio? I don't think Steve will be away from radio too long, but didn't Vicki leave radio because of a medical condition? Unless her condition has improved, I don't think she'll be back on the air anytime soon. BTW, any word on her condition?

It was in the AJC last week that she has a clean vbill of health. Which raises the question if it only took several weeks to get better, why didn't she just take the time off to heal instead of quitting. Unless that is just part of the excuse for not renewing their contracts.

Perhaps Cox starting courting her last year....and the health issues were merely a catalyst to be able to leave Star and move up the street (and the dial)?

The AJC had reported that Vicky had been treating
a blood clot for over a year.I remember her announcing it
on the show a year ago.
The newspaper reported that after an MRI her clot had
dissipated. So I don't think that she was faking this
thing. I think they are sorely missed on air, and would sound great
on wsb fm

No doubt she had a blood cot but do you quit a job of 17 years for something that took less than two months to heal. If Star wanted to keep S & V they would have given her the apprpriate amount of time off. The writing was on the wall. She must get career advice from Sean "When the going gets tough I leave and blame personal reasons". She basically jumped used the blood cot as an excuse beforre they pushed her. You keep face and retain more of your value since the last employer did not fire you.

Sean Demery didn't quit when the going got tough...he got out while the gettin' was good. The writing was on the wall. If you believe otherwise, you don't work there and you don't have a clue.

What does Demery have to do with (Steve and) Vicki's blod clot?

I am willing to give Vicki the benefit of the doubt. Though the learned posters below do raise interesting questions. I think RTibbs got this one correct. Still, if S&V wanted out, all they had to do was quit gracefully. After saying that, they probably would be in breach of contract, so Vicki found an out. If that's the case, good for her.

Is Cox going to pony up the cabbage that S&V require? Especially on a station with no competition? The odds of S&V on B98.5 - 15:1.

If it was Star's plan to push S&V out, then not only did they succeed, but they may've also shot themselves in the foot. I know the both of them weren't getting any younger, but S&V were a cash cow for Star. It reminds me of when Clear Channel pushed Rick Dees from KIIS-FM and replaced him with Ryan Seacrest, despite the fact that Dees was the highest revenue-producing morning show in Los Angeles. So far, CC's efforts have paid off. Can't say the same for Star and Lincoln Financial.

Uh...the Morning Mess has only been on the air in Atlanta for a couple of weeks. Geez, dude, what do you want?? ::)
