The Steve Show goes to The River?

Yep, Steve confirms on Twitter and Facebook. Will be great hearing him on the air, hopefully with some extra playlist elbow room! :)

I already did, but I had to do something with the preset where WZGC was. To their credit, River has been playing wider and deeper than they were before. Hopefully they continue on that trend.

He'll be helping fill in on air starting next weekend, he told me, and will be doing some specialty programming for Dave Clapper. The River does not have a mid-day host as of now. Presumably with the River's higher ratings, it should be able to afford Steve next year. We'll see.

River has been tentatively adding more 90s...I heard Blind Melon the other day.

In some respects, River is becoming like the old Z93...but with perhaps a much better curated music selection that relies on a modified version of the B98.5 Cox "turn and burn" formula (more turn and less burn, stick with the recognizable stuff, don't be afraid to play the dusty stuff that was big in its day but isn't heard much anymore, keep plenty of favorites in rotation).

The River has been sounding real good during the weekend when they have their A to Z weekends. During this time, you hear a lot of deeper cuts like Head East, Uriah Heep, and deeper progressive rock from Yes. I just wished they would incorporate this into the every day playlist done during the work week.
