The story of WGSO. What is the story with WGSO?

WGSO DROPS LOCAL PROGRAMMING....GOES SYNDICATION!!
On a day when they might show off their local programming because the mostly syndicated stations are playing reruns or fill ins, WGSO opts to play reruns of syndicated programs that are never heard on the station, except on holidays. And, as bad as it is, it’s a refreshing change. Oh, if only it were permanent.

Perhaps I'm a little biased, ya know being that I'm the big ol' dyke that got fired from WGSO because I wouldn't play ball, but I'd say WGSO's problems started long before the ink on the station contract was even dry.

In reference to the statement made by an earlier poster indicating the talent pool is shallow, I agree. But that's not because anchors aren't interested in being in NOLA, it's the good ol' boy network keeping talent at bay. Anchors want to be there, but it's so damn difficult to live under those circumstances and with the daily bureaucracy infiltrating our lives.

And although I'm well aware of my black-listing by KT and his resident ass-kissers, I'm still going back to New Orleans at some point... maybe when progressive thinking makes its way down the delta.

For those wondering what I'm up to, I'm back where I belong; I'm writing and lecturing on history, living in D.C., and working on the Bob Barr campaign.

If you are looking for liberalism, northeast style, I'm not sure you will ever get that! As for calling me a resident kisser, at least Wilkie didn't give me my start. I wouldn't want to be called for kissing his ass. THANK GOD!!

Hockey Girl....way to go, girl!! Looks like you hit a very sensitive nerve in Johnny Marchese. I’ve read your post several times and can’t find his name. I even read it backward at a slower speed and couldn’t find it. Upside down...no not there. So, since you didn’t mention him by name or inference, we can conclude, by his own admission, that Johnny Marchese is a KT resident ass kisser. And, for what it’s worth, we’ve learned that KT has a more desirable ass to kiss than whoever Wilkie is. Which begs the question: “What does the kissableness of JT’s ass and un-kissableness of Wilkie’s ass have to do with the fact that WGSO sucks?”

Ok, Ronn, I know who you are now, when you said you liked Ed Clancy(My really good friend, and hated to see him go), I realized you called Humble's show(A longtime friend of me and my dad), so you really barked up a wrong tree. For one, I kiss no one's ass, you couldn't tell the irony and sarcasm in my statement. If being loyal to the person who got you started in sports radio means kissing up, so be it.

A really long time ago, someone told me that you needed thick skin to be in radio, and thanks for the example why!!

If you think you or Hockey Girl aka CS, got under my skin I dare you to be in the same room with my 7 year old son for one hour without killing yourself!!

If all of you want the info, KT and all of us with the Sports Block are safe.

Johnny, Johnny, Johnny....I don’t even know you (and you certainly don’t know me), but I do feel for you. You need help. Read what you wrote about what I DID NOT WRITE.....Here’s what I wrote: "Hockey Girl....way to go, girl!! Looks like you hit a very sensitive nerve in Johnny Marchese. I’ve read it several times, backward and forward and upside down....and I don’t find your quote in my quote: (I) liked Ed Clancy(My really good friend, and hated to see him go).
In addition to misquoting (you must be a Democrat) you also rave with hysteria about thick skin and being in a room with your son. Just what does that have to do with the fact that “WGSO sucks”. And, by the way, where did Ed Clancy go? And, if I come to Cap’s in September, will you bring KT so everyone there can see his “kissable” ass? (Hokey Girl...see what you started.)

NO NO NO! I didn't mean to start anything! I actually love Johnny! I don't (or at least didn't) think of him as a KT ass-kisser. I was actually talking about a few other people.

But I don't think he should say that he or any of the sports block guys "are safe." I don't think anyone at WGSO is safe. And as we all know, the worst thing someone can do in radio is get too comfortable-that is inevitably when the hatchet comes down.

I happily remain the non-ball-playing dyke who continues to defy the stereotype.

Soooo.
O'Reily and Dr. Joy Browne in mid-days.
Who got wacked?
Cyrus is still there. Who does he have pictures of?

Bill O’Reilly and Dr. Joy Brown crammed in 11 AM to 2PM....then, Bernie. No Clancy. KT seems to be scheduled only for short shows in the evening and on weekends. And, others have been “sitting in” for him. And, the high light of the WGSO evening sports line up is called “The SECOND Team”, which, in reality, is a large exaggeration. “Sand lot” at best. But, who really cares!!

Ronn, Wrong Wrong Wrong I am a big time Conservative family man, and introduce me to anyone who doesn't need help in post-K times. I am too too busy to keep talking to someone with time on his hands, so I need to get to my volunteer time for American Diabetes Association functions to help in finding a cure for everyone afflicted with this disease including my 7 year old. I am now going to be in an official capacity at the Tailgate for a Cure at Gerry Lane Hummer on Sept. 20, so I guess the get together at Cap's still won't happen for me.

Johnny, with LSU opening its SEC football season on September 20 against Auburn, and it most likely will be an afternoon game on ESPN, I have a hunch the September 20 lunch will be postponed till a week or two later at least. Stay tuned. Looks like interesting TV coverage on this lunch whenever it takes place. More later.

Woah! FM thats bad but how did it do over the religous outlets. I wonder if an easy listening station would do better than WGSO? ;D
