The the shoe Fitz

Translation: Entercom didn't want to pay for a separate morning show in SF, so it was easier to "syndicate" Fitz.

And the outcome will probably be about the same as that wonderful experiment on KISW called "Rob, Arnie & Dawn" - the "superstars from Sac-town".

Fitz has a good track record. End of contract- Fitz wants more money....Entercom: we KNOW where to get THAT money. Just jettison the AM team in SF.

Problem solved, on one level anyway.

huh......exactly what i said months ago when bob rivers contract talk, come up on the board. several posters(with those handle nicknames/initials) said CBS wouldnt renew and pay for this high priced show. scott said, CBS would never let rivers and crew go for money reasons, they would simply jettison/eliminate/axe a few CBS local morning shows on one/several of their 100+ stations, and bring bob and crew to town via seattle hookup. how wrong i was........

now here we have the entercom hunters shooting two san fran wolves, out of what was a three wolf pack san fran morning show. there are prob dozens, if not more, wolf badged, big city, enter-comy country stations out there. hey, lets just shoot the rest of the wolf pack morning shows, and put this designated alpha male top wolf dog, fritz on all of em. just think how great this would be for the entercomy bottom line, and its poor share holders carrying all that FCC deregulation/market expansion/buying frenzy debt from a few years ago.

you aint seen nothin yet...............

....and the Fitz hits the shan.....

Let's look at these Entercom Wolf stations - My, we have quite a few......

KKWF Seattle
KWJJ Portland
KBWF San Fransisco
WDAF Kansas City
WPAW Greensboro, NC

I don't think Fitz could make it out beyond the Pacific time zone....unless they tape delay everything for next day programming in Kansas City and Greensboro.....

fritz, and the rest of the morning laugher caffeinated crew, could show up a few hours early, and put all of the "set to go bits" on voice track and send em out to the rest of the wolf howl stations east of here. board ops could then insert local giggle girl and big belly laughs when needed. yes , i joke but.............

Wow MAJOR mistake...Ken & Corey at KBWF are great. Better than Fitz by a long shot. I wish it was the other way around. The Wolf in SF is gonna suffer big time with Fitz doing AM Drive.

Everyone I have ever talked too have said the main reason they love the wolf was because of Ken & Corey. I imagine there is goin' to be plenty of complaints coming there way.

Between Mary's cackling and descriptions of drunken neighborhood block parties from which she crawls home and Fitz droning on about Pee-Wee footbal games, it's unlistenable. (This was in a 5 minute span about 2 weeks ago when I stumbled across 100.7)

according to oct 5, country aircheck via e-mail: "eddie king will join the show from san-fran, as co hosts ken anderson, and corey foley are thought to be exiting".

so how will this work? eddie will joint broadcast with the seattle wolf pack via wire? this could create a pack conflict. i assume fritz will be the alpha male wolf here? how will eddie king, current san fran wolf pack alpha male, who will be losing the rest of his wolf pack, take to the roll of gelded beta male within the new pack? im so confused here..........

not surprising, scotty. Better stick to what you're comfortable with - gear jammin' & listnin' to classic country on satellite radio.

Scott ...I assume you really ARE asking about how it may work so I'll take a stab.

The easiest way is that the team has roles ... and the show breaks into segments. So they have the core "entertainment team" that does their patter ... music shared to both stations. They break for local news/traffic, etc, -- and the local "role" player for news and traffic step up and do their thing. Seattle does Seattle coverage...SFO does their coverage.

Hardest part is timing those breakaways so they match ... if Seattle has nothing to talk about and SFO has a Golden Gate bridge collapse, it presents a slight challenge (though there are ways around that too).

Usually not every player participates in the gabfest. I hope they DON'T because that's what generally makes the morning shows unlistenable --- when 23 people are all competing for their six seconds of fame all at the same time.

(Didn't mean to hit the strike-thru button. Remember...old people nod off with strokes at any moment so my head probably slammed into the keyboard again. Sorry, gang)
