The three I can't find

There's another post on this forum about what were my favorite radio years.....don't have one set of times. Starts probably in the 60's and goes into the early 80's. Where did these guys go?

60s/70s Lockjock.....the first guy to make $100K in Seattle radio?!

Around 1975.....Andy Barber on KOMO1000 (when it was Top 40)......before the days of internet, email, IM and text messaging, ALL of my friends tried like crazy to get on the "Barber Boogie Line" around 8pm to give a shout out to someone. I even got in a fight with my best friend over something I said on the Boogie Line and we didn't speak for almost a year.

1980-81....Stephen Rabow on KZAM1540 (The Modern Mono, Rock of the 80's).....I still wish I had my neon green lapel pin from that station that I got at one of their sponsored concerts.....the only 80's style New Wave pin I ever wore.....I heard one time he went to work for Muzak (after they decided to try and upscale their music to different venues).

Great board here; brings back lots of memories.

Lockwood in Florida and focused 150% on golf. His son still active in radio.

Barber is mornings in midwest...Oklahoma, as I recall. He was on KING, by the way, KOMO was never Top 40. Lockwood on KING too before the braintrust decided he needed to be "controlled" more and eventually helped him leave...so he went across the street and became huge at KJR and a force KING had to recon with for many years.

Rabow I'm not sure.

steve rabow is in sarasota, fla. writing travel books. if there is any places you would like to travel to in florida, chat with steve

Are you talking about Gary Lockwood or Larry Lujack? The latter is a legend in Chicago!

Gary Lockwood, while very talented, seemed to be doing a Larry Lujack impression. His pacing and delivery were similar to Lujacks. Not to take anything away from Gary, though. Gary could be very humorous and like Lujack, somewhat caustic.

Hello...BONK-BONK-BONK...is this thing working?? TAP-TAP-TAP...testing one-two, one-two... Uhh, I don't know if we're on-the-air, but here is a link to lead you to the Rabow Juniors - both following dad's flippy-floppy-feet...The youngest is the World's Youngest DJ (Guinness World Records) and the oldest is the Official Best Big Brother In The World (Guinness Stout Award) - they have a weekly show ("The Saturday Morning Cartoon Show" - the same name of the program dear-ol-dad had when he was on KAOS-FM from 1973-1978) on WSLR 96.5 FM - you can listen live any Saturday morning from 11a.m. - Noon EST and check out their Playlists here: http://wslr.org/php/dj.php?=63

Contrary to popular rumor, their not-quite-dead-yet-dad now tests Bus Station Waiting Room Seating for overall quality and comfort (based on overnight usage) for "Consumer Resorts" - a job he finds somewhat more fulfilling than Radio, but only on a spiritual level.

Andy Barber is doing middays in Star 103 point something in Tulsa now. Do you suppose he's still as full of himself as he used to be?

That was such a great station! They broke so much incredible music that is now considered classic - The Police, U2, Elvis Costello, all the best stuff from that era. Steve, great to hear from you.

As much as I have a soft spot for the Modern Mono 1540, I was introduced to the Police by KISW in October 1980 during a $.99 Rising Star concert.
