The Ticket no longer on 1700??

Maybe I'm late to the party, but was out and about today in Denton County, and tried to listen to The Ticket on 1700. Instead of Bob, Dan and Donovon, I instead heard Dave Ramsey on 1700?

What's up, Cumulus?

So they are simulcasting 570 again?

Maybe the upgrade to 1310 is finished.

Noticed the same thing. This morning I listened to the Ticket on 1700 like usual. Tuned in on the way back from lunch to hear the Garrett PC, and no sports.

It'll be bad news for me if they aren't on 1700 anymore, but I guess that's the case.

Not good for me if true. I spend a lot of time in Fannin county and 1310 is/was spotty because of power line interference. 1700 came in loud and clear and 104.1 wasn't clear until you get back into Grayson county.

Looks like a lot of 96.5 and 101.9 out of Paris for me. :'(

I travel that area too and 103.3 ESPN comes in very up there.

104.1 comes in fine for me even in Rockwall.

I actually liked it when 1700 ran 570, since I liked coast to coast.

I say 1700 should be its own thing, super serve Collin County.

1700 SHOULD be back in Grayson County from whence it came as the replacement for 950AM (COL-Denison) which is the reason the 1700 license was granted in the first place.

The daytime stick for 1700 is in Grayson County, off FM 121 between Van Alstyne and Gunter.

I listen exclusively on 104.1, so I haven't heard the switch yet. KLIF was simulcast on 1700 until the storm damaged the 1310 tower — 2008 or 2009? I do know it was during the Ticket Compound.

Yes, but there is ZERO programming for Grayson County on 1700. The COL is now Richardson. The first thing SusQ did when they shut down 950 and got 1700 on the air was apply to "move" it to Richardson. (Obviously there are just not enough audible signals in Richardson and the community of Richardson needed a station more than Denison which now has no AM service. Sherman (as well as the rest of Grayson County) is left with only the daytimer on 1500 since 910 was moved out.)

Nice Gunter reference. That's where I went to HS...transplant from Tioga.

However, 1700 is playing KLIF.

I just spoke with someone very prominent with the Ticket and he doesn't know anything about it. He did say the power-up with 1310 could happen any day.

104.1 works great for most of Collin County.

Hey Liberty Valence,

Do you have a tough time picking up 570 even on a good radio and antenna in Collin County? Just curious.

570 during the day is just fine,
at night 570 can be pretty noisy
it's not uncommon for me to be able to hear
Radio Reloj under KLIF.
1700 is certainly a help.

1310 was off the air for about an hour and a half this evening before sunset. (104.1 was still fine.) Wonder if we get the full power-up tomorrow AM?

Can someone remind me what full power-up will be? Maybe going from 5,000 to 25,000 sounds familiar, but wanted some concrete confirmation.

Either 20K or 25K -- the application is on file and has been referenced elsewhere on the board. I'm too lazy to look it up.

For some reason, the signal contour map I saw of the higher power isn't much bigger than it is now. Lower elevation at the tower maybe to protect others on 1310? I know the purpose of the upgrade is for better office building penetration downtown.

No announcement yet. I'm sure they'll promo it heavily when it happens.

Elevation does not affect AM signals.
It takes a ridiculous amount of power to double an AM signals range.
Hence why the 25kW doesn't appear to make much of a difference.
It will mainly make for better building penetration.
