I admit I'm not a regular listener, but when I think about it and I'm in the car about 5 or so, I enjoy listening to those guys jabber about this and that. One of them said today that their program is either going off the air or being reduced.

Then added something about legal ramifications. What's up over there? Does everyone know but me?

According to this week's Dallas Observer, Greggo's been out in rehab as a result of using cocaine. He apparently will return to work next week according to the article (article says by the end of the month which is Friday next week).

While gone, they have hardly been calling it "The Hardline" and Kevin Scott has been filling in. If Williams is indeed returning, I imagine the "Afternoon Drivetime Show" (or other variants they have been calling it) is going "off the air" and Kevin is being "reduced" and "The Hardline" comes back on...

Maybe they can change the name of the show to "The Hard Drug Line".

Why couldn't he just be a "regular" guy, and support and encourage the debaucheries of Hard Liquor and Beer.... after all they're legal, and there's no shame in anything "legal", if it's dones "resonsponsibly".... :D :D :D :D

Maam.... you daughter was killed by a drunk driver..... But the tests show there were no illegeal drugs present..... I hope that makes it easier for you... :'(

Better yet, you know it's amusing how easy it is for dimwits (DJs, celebrities, comedians or even folk like certain people in this thread that will go unnamed) to get jocular about drugs, drinking and debauchery as a voyeur. But when it hits home, things are put in to perspective and you realize beneath all those cheap gag lines lies an issue that needs to be dealt with, not shrugged away or "reduced".

Yes, Rhyns used to make those jokes. Operative words there being used to. It hit home... and the mirror crashed loudly. :-\

looking back, i noticed something during the last month or so that Greggo was on the air (besides the clogged nose symptoms of Greggo.)

Greggo would say something at times that had very little significance to the conversation at hand, and
Rhyner would almost dismiss him with a little pause and then move on with "coming up next...." or whatever.

Perhaps Rhyner might have seen the change in Greggo, recognized what he was seeing and was really disgusted at it.
i miss the ol' Hammer and hope he'll get well and get back on the air.

This week will be six weeks sans Greggo, TODAY may be the day. . .

I just hope Greggo comes on and tells every athlete he has jumped on for drugs, or breaking the LAW THAT HE GETS IT NOW, AND WILL BE MORE UNDERSTANDING IN THE FUTURE. Let's face it those dudes haven't had any sports cred for a long time. The next time they actually step in the locker room and talk to players will be the first time in 10 years. They use to really care about the listener, but now they seem to have been spending all of their time reading their own press clippings and have stopped actually covering sports. They don't even respect listeners enough to go get real sports guys to fill in, there is a reason Kevin Scott washed out in Austin, and Donavan being on the Cowboy post game is a joke! The next good hire Cat makes will be the first. They need some real leadership there, and stop letting the inmates run the asylum. I remember when the Ticket did sports talk, and I really miss it. Now when they talk sports I turn the channel because they really don't know what they are talking about anymore.... Kind of sad really. :'(

yeah, it is kind of sad...really. Prolly why The Ticket is getting "hammered" in the ratings.
Rock me.

I have to agree with David on this one. The Ticket's performing VERY well doing what they're doing right now. If it ain't broke don't fscking fix it! How's ESPN Radio and their "all sports all the time" mantra doing? Pretty pathetically. The 12+ numbers for KESN are less than half what The Ticket pulled in the latest trend.

Hellooooo! It was a joke!
Agreeing with David makes you certifiably humorless...

I figured yours was tongue-in-cheek. I was responding more directly to ISaidSo who seems to be suffering from a severe case of anal-cranial inversion.

First, ratings don't always mean good radio... second, I am just saying that you can't really call them a "Sports" station anymore.

They're more like KLLI than ESPN Radio when it comes to sports programming...Norm is about the only guy who does straight sports up there...

Yeah, what do those hundreds of thousands of pesky listeners the advertisers are trying to reach know about "good radio" compared to you?
