The Ticket

I miss Mike and the cobra... it is just not the same! I appreciate Danny's observations but they don't work with those two guys he's on with this week... There is a great Hardline synergy that just can't be duplicated. And I know The Ticket is a sports station but The Hardline mixes sports with TMZ type stuff that works. This week I am suffering from sports over saturation. :-\

Yes the hardline is on vacation. Bad Radio is filling in for them. I can understand wanting to listen to Ryhner, but Corby is one of the worst personalities in the DFW market.

After the whole deal with Greggo went down, I couldn't listen much for a while because Corby was on my nerves. Once they started letting Danny talk more, the whole thing clicked for me. Corby and Danny together make it work.

Then again, I'm one of the few who considers the Orphanage appointment radio.

The Hardline picked a bad week to be off.....

The Ticket was unlistenable this week.

No, Donovan is one of the worst personalities in the DFW market. Corby is sometimes VERY Funny, sometimes not. I NEVER find Donovan's input entertaining. It's NOT the content.... it's the Delivery.

All I know is the whole saga of "the upper decker" was epic.

Not epic at all. In fact, it was staged, and you could tell. Why? See quote below.

Donovan's a great guy, but he doesn't fit at all. Tries entirely too hard to be relevant.
He's worse when he's co-hosting with Rich Phillips, who may be the second worse radio personailty in DFW.

Wait, something referred to as "a bit" was staged?????!!!!

NO!

Next thing you will tell me is that wrestling is fake.

Of course it was staged- and it was freakin' funny.

The Hardline is a shadow of it's former self. I listen, but only because there's nothing else on in that time slot.

While the last year GW was on and strung out was bad, the years before that were pure radio gold. Now the Old Gray Wolf is mailing it in, and Corby and Danny, who I thought were funny in limited doses (yuck monkey, producer who occasionally chimes in, etc.), are like fingernails on a chalkboard when they have a larger role.

I just can't wait until they do yet another segment on the greatness of Neil Young/Bob Dylan/insert washed up 60's rockstar here. The 500 or so they've done so far certainly haven't gotten old.

I've enjoyed GW and RW from what I've heard so far. The Fan should move them to afternoon drive (god only knows it couldn't be worse than Gavin and Whoever). Either that or I wish the Ticket would move Badd Radio to afternoon drive.

I am a Ticket P1 for years now, and I love the 'new' Hardline. There's nothing else even close to interesting on during the same time. When 7pm hits, I listen to the Howard Stern repeat on Sirius.

I for one like the 'music history' segments and wish they'd do more of them. I loved "Bob and the Beatles" years ago. Basically, anytime they talk non-sports is when I love it. Baseball and football talk beats me down, but I stick through it for E-News and Movie Talk or TV Talk, or Guess What I Did This Weekend talk.

And I love the Orphanage, too.

The oly thing I'd change is all of their shows being on podcast in their entireity. I know its a lot of bandwidth, but if I can't listen, i want to be able to download it and listen to the parts I missed.

One day the delivery method won't matter, it will all be content. Over the air, on satellite, on podcast, etc.

@cornflakeguy - you lost credibility when you decided to extol the greatness of the Orphange. That show needs to be renamed "Beavis and Butthead Do a Radio Show".

I'm not in the business. I'm a listener. I don't need credibility. I'm the one you want to get to listen.

I like "dudes hanging at the bar" aspect of the Orphanage, and the Ticket in general. That's the appeal.

But I like the Orphange more when Wilonsky is on.
