Anyone got any ideas on what it is???????

When is it, again?

MONDAY AT 7:35 AM DURING DUNHAM AND MILLER.....

Being that they #1 among men 18+ (still with the trends today), it's not a format change.

Usually, the big announcements are a new contest or ticket event or something like a celebrity sports figure being added to the annual CCOI or QB bowl, etc.

Well this is only a rumor and I don't have anything to back it up, however I've been told that it's possible that the Ticket might eventually move to 570. That would be a smart move to make, however this is just something that someone told me and I haven't heard anything else that would make this more than just a simple rumor.

The Big announcement....They are changing their Name to "The Scalper". They are weary of other sports stations in other markets calling themselves "the Ticket",therefore They will be charging those other markets "service fees" for the use of the name, Hence the new "Scalper Logo".

Has anyone checked the FCC website to see if a freqency change has been applied for.

maybe they will let a P-1 spend a week with them in the compound this year..

that maybe the announcement. I dont think they will ever go to 570.

If they moved, it would be brand suicide. That will never happen. And about the announcement?? You are correct, those overhyped announcements are either about formatting inclusion (Blue Star Radio, for example) or another schtick promotional activity.

My prediction: They name the Cowboys broadcasting team for the 2007 Season.

Question: I'm not in radio, so why would it be "brand suicide" for them to move to 570? KLIF moved from 1190 to 570 way back when and it didn't kill them... in fact, they went were going strong for a while in the late '80's on 570. I think The Ticket should move to 570... Does anybody have any reason to listen to KLIF today?

NO KLIF has been (for almost 15 years or so) on life support. For some reason that station has never been able to get it together and closely affiliating itself with FOX was another decision in a set of total dumbness.
The Ticket will not move their freq. They are established, their audience knows where to find them. Most likely it is the new "Cowboy Announcing Team" or Rogert Staubach is doing his own show fora Superbowl campaign awareness. It won't be earth shattering ,but "Joe Jock" will tune in anyways.

Could it possibly be that they are pulling the plug on the Bone and the Ticket will simulacast on 1310 and 93.3? But if I remember correctly the compound was around this time a year ago so I'm pretty sure it has to do with that.

Tryin, that is a serious possibility. Seeing that the bones been sitting there running on auto-pilot since scott and jeff left, I could see that coming into play.

KPLX, about the only good thing KLIF has going for it is COAST TO COAST AM and Wheels With The Cryptkeeper, everything else is a drain.

WE CALLED IT SPORTS FANS... another bit.

Isn't that what most "big announcements" surmised to these days? A bit. They don't announce firings...ER...decisions to move in another direction...ER...firings. Those just happen. They don't even warn you about format changes (eh hem, MOViN). Those just take a city by storm as we all hurl uncontrollably into the FCC's porcelain dish of despair. Power Increase? Those are rumored first. New frequency? Nah, we just spring those up like annual sales at Macy's.

Yeah, DFW has gone bit crazy. It's a fever. CATCH IT!

The format as of April 1 is changing to all German Polka Music with a mix
of French Rock.

They have this schtick thing they do called "The Ticket Compound"... it's the "Real World" meets DFW Radio. Funny and interesting concept, but everyone knew they were doing this again, so the hype really wasn't worth it. They will get their ratings off of this... last year proved that.

Maybe taking over the Bone, which has been/continues to be a big loser??? Not a great signal, 93.3, but it's FM. And it would save Cumulus a bundle. Otherwise, the 570 theory sounds plausible. Wait...you don't think the Ticket could wind up on WRR in a LMA, do ya? Didn't they try to get that dial position for the Bone a few years back?
