The Tidewater/Hampton Roads has too many pointless translators.

WAVY-TV has 4 translators, WKTD-CD/17, WCTX-CD/35, WITD-CD/23, and WBTD-LD/43, which serves Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, and Suffolk respectively. It's sister station, WVBT has another pointless translator WNLO-CD/45, just to cover the Suffolk area that is covered by WBTD-LD, which interferes WVBT's main signal. If WAVY shut down all translators or could've auction them off to the spectrum, except for the ones in Onancock, which is north of the Bay Bridge-Tunnel, then WAVY could get money from that (I guess). Same goes for WVBT, if WAVY shuts down WBTD, then people can watch WVBT's main signal clearer than WNLO-CD. I don't get why WAVY has 4 translators that are pointless, because WAVY's main signal covers the entire coverage area of the 4 translators just fine. The 2 translators in Onancock are fine as they are so no change north of the Bay Bridge tunnel, and same goes for WVBT's translator in Mappsville, which is in the Eastern Shore (Onancock).

Because they are all Class A stations it qualified for the auction (translators did not). Lots of possible money for them if they keep them on until they cash their check from the FCC and then shut them down

1st number is if they shut down/then VHF LOW/then VHF Hi
